Day 11 --- Injuries
Just as i was thinking to myself just how well this was going a couple of old niggling injuries have raised their heads. Specifically, my left achilles tendon is killing me from all the skipping. I had been doubling the required skipping we were doing as im actually used to a 10-15 min skip to warm up for muay thai. It seems my mind forgot that i havent done any exercise in 4 months but my body certainly hasnt. I think i might have to hit a the bike for a few days to give it a rest as i strained my right calf compensating for the left leg yesterday..... SO FRUSTRATING !!!! If anybody has any suggestions about what i should be doing as an alternative or knows how to fix this pls let me know.

Make sure to do some proper stretching. If you just sit all day, then do exercises, your legs are going to tense up.

ReplyDeletePlace the front part of the foot on an small block or curb or anything like that and push the heel down, hold for 3-5 mins until you can feel the achilles and Soleus (the muscle under the two big calf muscles) release.
ReplyDeleteAlso, make sure you're not just jumping on the toes, which will fatigue your calves too fast.
The exercises and reps will get plenty hard soon man, no need to rush into the abyss.
